Why do you suppose the writers of the other Gospels never mention them?

Matthew 2:1; 7; 16

Matthew 2:1 After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem

Matthew 2:7 Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared.

Matthew 2:16 When Herod realized that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi.

Three Gifts

Now Let's talk about those gifts! Well there was gold. We all know what that is.

And there was frankinscense. Frankinscense (according to wikipedia) is an aromatic gum resin
obtained from an African tree (Boswellia sacra, family Burseraceae) and burned as incense. This
resin was burned by the Egyptions to create kohl used to outline their eyes with a black line. Also,
the resin was used to annoint newborn babies.

Myrrh is the aromatic oleoresin of a number of small, thorny tree species of the genus Commiphora, which grow in dry, stony soil. An oleoresin is a natural blend of an essential oil and a resin. Myrrh
resin is a natural gum. (Wikipedia) Myrrh was used in the embalming process.

Was the frankinscense for him as a baby, the gold to support him in his life and the myrrh to be
used after his death.
